IMPORTANT FACTS ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS: |
|
- CLC’s primary focus is to serve middle and high schools. If a church has a strong desire to work with an elementary school, church leaders should discuss the possibility with the Executive Director of CLC.`
- All staff members of CLC (paid and non-paid) must go through an application process that includes background checks and job description discussions. All members must be qualified to work with the students they serve and have lifestyles that are exemplary of their Christian profession.
- All volunteer staff members are asked to commit to serving our students for at least one full year.
- CLC provides curriculum for all its Bible classes. However, we are open to using a suggested curriculum (elementary and middle school programs only) as long as it adheres to our Statement of Belief. The curriculum used for the high school course is from BJU press and must be used since it is approved by the Greenville County School District for our students’ accreditation purposes.

Our Elementary and Middle School Bible Classes… |
|
- Are taught by volunteers on a WEEKLY basis beginning the second full week in September or October and ending in March. All public school students are eligible to participate in the program. A parent consent form is available by calling the CLC office (236-0450). Students may enroll anytime of the school year. Usually, re-enrollment is not necessary unless a student withdraws from the program or changes schools.
- Elementary Bible classes are held at the end of the school day at an off-school site location or on school campus. Middle school Bible classes are held off campus during a related arts class period. Site locations are not more than a five-minute drive from the school. A sponsoring church will need to prepare to provide classes for middle school students for no less than (3) 50-minute class sessions and no more than (6) 50-minute class sessions one day a week. The day of class is usually chosen based on the availability of the volunteers. No Release Time classes are held for our students on school holidays, student testing days, teacher workdays, days of special school assemblies, and school delays and closings due to inclement weather.

Our High School Bible Course… |
|
- Is an accredited course. Parent consent is required. High school students may elect to enroll in the elective course one semester during their high school years. Student registrations take place in January-March each year for the next school term.
- Is a social studies elective. Classes are held on a DAILY basis beginning the first day of the first or second semester for 90 days. CLC prefers to work with high schools that are on the block schedule; in that way, students are released to attend their Bible class for 90 minutes five days a week. Even so, CLC will attempt to work with other high school schedules.
- Is a 90-minute Bible course that is offered at a location that is no more than a five to seven minute drive from the school. Shorter schedules require no more than a five-minute transport.
- Requires the services of a teacher who is certified at the secondary level and whose certification is accepted by the S. C. Department of Education. Our High School Bible Instructor position is a paid position.
